"Solar Solutions: The Challenges and Promise of Solar Power"

Craig Grimes

The fall Research Unplugged season came to a close on Wednesday, November 19th,  with Craig Grimes leading a discussion about the challenges and promise of solar power. Speaking to a packed house, Grimes, professor of Electrical Engineering and the Director for the Center for Nanomaterials, gave the audience a taste of the recent technological advances and the bottom-line economics behind solar power. For solar power to become a major player in our nation's energy portfolio, he stressed, it needs to become more cost-effective and efficient. View the slideshow.
