Odyssey Through Literature explores the literatures of differing
cultures, the dramas of individuals and societies. It is a developing
definition of "comparative literature": each of the 260 half-hour
episodes enlarges the definition.
As series host S. Leonard Rubinstein explains, "We do not assume
that every listener has a prior interest in each subject. We assume
that our curiosity will make our listeners curious, and that everyone
will profit."
Odyssey Through Literature was produced for radio
