How does water move through rocks? Particularly through karst, the limestone formation responsible for central Pennsylvania's sinkholes — and its drinking water? Dorothy Vesper is tracking contaminants to find out.

Listening for Bats

An old church by a graveyard: the perfect classroom for learning about bats. Biologist Mike Gannon and graduate student Tim Blackburn have spent hours here and in the surrounding state park, working on a new method for monitoring bats by their sonar calls.
